There are two currencies used in Animal Crossing New Horizons: bells, and miles. Animal Crossing bells are mainly used to buy Animal Crossing items (Nook Miles Tickets, Golden Tools, Apparels, Decorations, Fossils, Furniture) from stores and pay off your various mortgages, you can also use it to trade with villagers, for fund upgrades to your island and more services.
