We're playing around with the Carian Regal Scepter in Elden Ring, and its special unique version of the spinning weapon Ash of War, of course, you probably have some questions so let's sort that out really fast.

How To Use This Carian Regal Scepter & Spining Weapon Combo Build

There is a version of this ash of war that is applicable to most stabs, but it is just ridiculously weaker like surprisingly so this is the standard version of The Ash of War, this is it being used on an enemy as well, it has non-existent range, absolutely pathetic damage, its only redeeming factor is it hits like seven times per cast, but with damage that low you can only make that work with something like blood flame which we have done in the past, today though is all focused around the melee damage of it itself not some silly blood procs, and that's where the carrion Regal scepter comes in immediately the difference is obvious, this version of the skill projects the weapon forward a couple of feet giving you actual range on it as a melee attack, and making it far more viable to use in many situations, then when it comes to the actual damage, it gets pretty silly in case, you're wondering we're in the exact same build to show both of these the damage is just that ridiculously different, and the main reason is because the carrion Regal scepter version of the weapon skill has inherent magic damage that the standard one doesn't and that magic damage scales with your intelligence as well which makes it a damn good combo the only negative of this compared to the base version of the skill is that it hits four times instead of seven but for the damage that we gain it is totally worth it as far as PVP then it is a bit rough as we have it set up obviously but given that this is the second best scaling staff in the entire game, and that we have 80 intelligence, you can literally shove any sorcery Under the Sun into this build and then use it to supplement the build for bbp purposes then you just have the Ultimate Backup of a strong spinning weapon, if someone just rushes at you expecting you to want to play at range which well really destroys people if they aren't ready for it.

Equipment

So let's talk about how it all comes together, first up is this specific staff itself which is a trade-in for the remembrance from rennala, then you want to grab yourself a seal, any seal will do as the scaling doesn't matter, so go for one of the weightless ones ideally, it's also worth mentioning that you'll be light rolling in this build too, for extra safety, just because of how little all this stuff weighs.

Weapon: Carian Regal Scepter

Armor

Then for your armor, you want the full spellblade's set, this gives you a two percent damage bonus to weapon skills that have magic or cold damage for armor piece, and with four pieces that is an eight percent bonus overall to our spinning weapon which is very worth it, you get this set by pilfering it from rozier's Corpse in the round table hold, after he eventually just sort of dies. For chest armor, we use Spellblade’s Traveling Attire.

Talismans

  • Shard of Alexander: After that we move on to our talismans and surprising no one, you'll want the excellent Shard of Alexander talisman, this boosts all weapon skill damage by 15 which is a massive amount, and of course spinning weapon is a weapon skill so that is massive 4-Hour goals within this build.

  • Magic Scorpion Charm Talisman: secondly, you'll want the Magic Scorpion Charm Talisman, this boosts all magic damage that you deal by 12 at the cost of lowering your damage negation, in any situation where you can comfortably Dodge the attack to stay out of Harm's Way, this is simply a strong bonus overall, you get this one from preceptor salubis and his questline which you can lock yourself out of if you progress too fast.

  • Dragoncrest Greatshield Talisman: instead of that Talisman though both in bbp and against any bosses that you are less comfortable with the moveset of you should pick up the Dragoncrest Greatshield Talisman for a massive boost to your physical day investigation, as we have practically no damage reduction going on so every little bit helps a significant amount, you get this one from the drainage channels made of Grace in the holly tree area by progressing East out of the archway and running along some roots and pillars until you reach a rooftop, drop down the hole in the rooftop and on the left is a balcony with a chest that holds this Talisman.

  • Rotten Winged Sword Insignia Talisman: then you want the Rotten Winged Sword Insignia Talisman, this boosts your damage with successive weapon hits meaning the faster that you hit an enemy with your weapon, the more damage it will do hit after hit, and of course spinning weapon counts as a load of weapon hits specifically for her cast on this weapon, if you can cast it a couple of times in a row, this Talisman will add a ton of damage on as you keep going, you get this one as part of the Millicent quest line by choosing to assist her at the end of it.

  • Millicent's Prosthesis: then finally for talismans, you want Millicent's Prosthesis, this has the same effect as the rotten winged sword Insignia, and it Stacks as well to make it even stronger, and on top of that, it just gives you plus five dexterity because why not, you get this one from defeating Millicent instead of helping her either at the end of her questline or after the godskin Apostle step of said questline, you can't technically get both of these in One Singular playthrough by yourself, but you can either require it through New Game Plus or simply from a friend if they happen to be feeling generous then with that covered.
