WOW Season of Discovery Ashenvale PvP Event Guide

WoW Season of Discovery Ashenvale PvP Event Guide

WoW Classic Season of Discovery Phase 1 introduces a new endgame level 25 content in the form of a zone-wide PvP event in Ashenvale. Players will compete to take control of objectives across Ashenvale and defeat the enemy faction's leaders. This event offers valuable rewards, including PvP gear, a world buff, and the only mount available until Phase 2. This guide covers everything you need to know about participating in this event and earning rewards.

How to Unlock & Start the Ashenvale PvP Event in WoW SoD?

To start the battle, both the Alliance and Horde factions need to reach 100% progress. This progress can be achieved by killing the opposite factions or by killing basic mobs in Ashenvale.

Starting the Event:

  • The Ashenvale PvP event is triggered by player kills in the zone.

  • A leader will spawn for each faction at their central camp: a Far Seer for the Horde and a Priestess of the Moon for the Alliance.

  • These boss-level enemies require a coordinated effort from many players to defeat.

  • Smaller camps scattered across the zone house faction lieutenants: Horde Blademasters and Keepers of the Grove.

  • Killing these sub-bosses weakens their faction leader, similar to the Alterac Valley battleground.

Faction Buffs:

  • When you're within 40 yards of your faction's lieutenants, you gain the Battlefield Inspiration buff, which grants 50% increased health and 20% increased damage.

  • When you're within 40 yards of your faction's leader, you gain an even more powerful buff:

For the Alliance, the Battlefield Genius buff grants 100% increased health and 50% increased damage. These values are further increased by each living Keeper of the Grove in the Priestess's army.

For the Horde, the Battlefield Genius buff grants 100% increased health and 50% increased damage. These values are further increased by each living Blademaster in the Far Seer's army.

Ashenvale PvP Event Locations:

Once the progress bars are full, the Ashenvale PvP event will begin. Leaders for each faction will spawn: Felore Moonray for the Alliance and Kazragore for the Horde. New disputed area symbols will display on the zone map and mini-map. For the Alliance, the leaders are called Keepers of the Grove: Ceredwyn, Centrius, and Larodar. For the Horde, the leaders are called Blademasters: Jubei, Moogul the Sly, and Tojara.

Ashenvale Map:

  • Ashenvale is a highly contested PvP zone in World of Warcraft, with quest hubs for both the Alliance and Horde.

  • It separates the Alliance zone of Darkshore from the Horde zone of The Barrens and connects to higher-level zones like Felwood and Azshara .

  • Each faction has a major hub in the zone: Astranaar for the Alliance and Splintertree Post for the Horde. The Horde also has an extra flight path at The Zoram Strand.

  • Both factions control multiple smaller posts throughout the zone, which are likely to spawn points for lieutenants. Horde control points are concentrated in the east, while the Alliance occupies the center of the zone.

  • Bough Shadow in the northeast corner is a high-level area with elite enemies that are level 60 and above. It houses one of the Emerald Dream portals, where world bosses could spawn in later phases of vanilla WoW.

How to Kill Bosses in the Ashenvale PvP Event?

During the event, players need to wait until the battle starts and then focus on the main boss. The main boss spawns after killing a couple of trash mobs. It is not necessary to kill the mini-bosses before engaging the main boss. This means that players will not encounter members of the opposite faction during the event.

Tips for Success:

  • Coordinate with your faction to focus on killing enemy players to trigger the event.

  • Work together to defeat the faction leaders, as they are boss-level enemies.

  • Take advantage of the faction buffs provided by lieutenants and faction leaders to gain an edge in battles.

  • Control key areas and objectives in the zone to gain an advantage over the opposing faction.

  • Communicate and strategize with your faction to maximize your chances of success.
