Best D2R 2.4 Ladder Trapsin Build - Lightning Trap Assassin Build Guide for Diablo 2 Resurrected

This Lightning Trap Assassin build by Poolnoodlex is incredible in Diablo 2 Resurrected 2.4 & Ladder as it can clear pretty much anything in the entire game. This build brings much utility to the arena that as an overall kit, it's really hard to beat, you can start farming things like cows and keys in early Ladder, making it an amazing D2R Ladder item and currency farmer.

Attributes & Stats

Let’s begin with the build stats, we have just enough strength and dexterity to wear everything depending on the gear or claws you're using, and then the rest goes into vitality for the merc.

- Strength: 157

- Dexterity: 57

- Vitality: 459

- Energy: 52

Skill Tree

The trap synergies were changed just a little bit to provide some more variability to these builds, so we have one point to Cloak of Shadows and Mind Blast for controlling the crowds, 20 into Lightning Sentry, 20 to Charged Bolt Sentry, and 20 into Shock Web. Since Death Sentry is no longer a required synergy, you can get away with putting just one point into this for the massive corpse explosion damage. With this new freedom, you can put 20 points in Burst of Speed, which is solid to hit your trap breakpoints, 20 into Fade for the huge resist or you can even put 20 into Fire Blast, which helps your death sentry by adding more shots, 20 into Wake of Fire to boost the fire blast even more or just stick to the traditional 20 into Death Sentry.

- Shadow Disciplines: Cloak of Shadows 1, Mind Blast 1, Burst of Speed 20, Fade 20

- Traps: Lightning Sentry 20, Charged Bolt Sentry 20, Shock Web 20, Fire Blast 20, Wake of Fire 20, Death Sentry 1

Early-Game Gear

The best gear for this D2R 2.4 Trapsin build has been broken down into two parts for early and mid-to-late gameplay. For the early-game equipment, we got a Spirit sword, MF gloves, random rings and a four-slot belt that you can find along the way, some boots with run speed, magic find or resistance on them, then a Spirit shield, Stealth for the armor, The Eye of Etlich amulet and a Lore helm, with this you're able to start farming cows and keys early on with relative ease.

- Weapons: Spirit (Crystal Sword)

- Shield: Spirit (Monarch)

- Helm: Lore

- Armor: Stealth (Ring Mail)

- Amulet: The Eye of Etlich

- Gloves: Gauntlets of Dexterity

- Rings: Manald Heal, Viper Knot

- Belt: Sigon’s Wrap

- Boots: Sigon’s Sabot (Greaves)

Mid to Late-Game Gear

Then when it comes to mid-to-late Diablo 2 items, it’s recommended to buy a lower resist wand and a teleportation staff. We got a Heart of the Oak for the weapon, a Magefist for the FCR, Chance Guards for the magic find, and a couple of skill rings of your choice. Then War Traveler for the extra MF, Spirit shield again due to it stretches you for the chest for the huge attack speed bonus which your traps use and the plus to skills. Mara’s for the skills and Highlord’s if you prefer a little bit more attack speed or even a +3 traps amulet. Lastly, a Shako for the skill, stats, and extra magic find.

- Weapons: Heart of the Oak (Sirknight’s Knout)

- Shield: Spirit (Monarch)

- Helm: Shako (Harlequin Crest)

- Armor: Treachery (Archon Plate)

- Amulet: Mara’s Kaleidoscope, or Highlord’s Wrath

- Belt: Arachnid Mesh (Spiderweb Sash)

- Gloves: Magefist (Light Gauntlets), Chance Guards (Chain Gloves)

- Boots: War Traveler (Battle Boots)

- Rings: The Stone of Jordan

Stone of JordanRequired Level: 29

Mercenary

For the mercenary, we would go with an Insight Act 1 cold or Insight Act 2 holy freeze early on for the extra control. They are optional because they are not very strong and can’t hold their own until you get more gear, but they are both replaced later on with an Infinity on that Act 2 cold mark, between this and the death century's corpse explosion you should be able to farm almost literally anything in the entire game.
