At +10, the weapon has B Dexterity scaling and only D Strength scaling, making Dexterity the primary attribute for maximizing its physical damage. It requires 13 Strength and 26 Dexterity to wield. The weapon weighs 9.5 and has a skill FP cost of 10/13. 

Leontiel's Greatsword Ash of War: Muleta

The biggest reason to use Leontiel's Greatsword isn't its basic moveset. It's Muleta. Muleta is a unique stance-style Ash of War that gives the weapon its signature bullfighter-inspired gameplay. Your character raises the red cloth before performing a sidestep, allowing you to evade an incoming attack and immediately retaliate. The skill provides roughly 20 frames of invincibility during its evasive movement. The skill has multiple follow-ups:

• Light attack: Performs a fast slashing counterattack.

• Heavy attack: Performs a powerful piercing strike.

• Charged heavy attack: Deals increased damage and stance damage.

• Godfrey Icon

This setup is heavily focused on making Muleta hit as hard as possible. If you're not using charged attacks frequently, Godfrey Icon can be replaced with a defensive or general-purpose talisman. For earlier progression, Warrior Jar Shard is a good replacement for Shard of Alexander.

Best Physick

For maximum aggression:

• Bloodsucking Cracked Tear

• Stonebarb Cracked Tear

Bloodsucking increases your damage while draining HP, making it a strong high-risk/high-reward option. Stonebarb is particularly interesting because Muleta's charged heavy attack already produces significant stance damage.

If you want a safer setup, replace Bloodsucking Cracked Tear with a defensive tear.

Buffs

A standard buff setup can include:

• Golden Vow

• Flame, Grant Me Strength

Then activate your Physick before entering combat.

The basic sequence is:

Golden Vow → Flame, Grant Me Strength → Physick → Hold Muleta → Attack

The goal isn't to spam Muleta constantly. Instead, wait for an enemy attack that you can reliably evade and turn that opening into a high-damage counterattack.

How to Get Elden Ring Leontiel's Greatsword

One of the best things about Leontiel's Greatsword Elden Ring is that you don't need to wait until extremely late in the game to obtain it. The weapon comes from an NPC invasion connected to Redmane Castle and Radahn's arena in Caelid.

Leontiel's Greatsword Location

Follow this route:

1. Travel to Redmane Castle in Caelid.

2. Make your way toward the large arena associated with Radahn's Festival.

3. Head toward the northern/pillar area of the arena.

4. The Leontiel NPC invasion will trigger.

5. Defeat Leontiel.

6. Collect the rewards after the invasion.

Defeating the invader rewards you with Leontiel's Greatsword, along with the associated Leontiel armor set according to the guide.

Leontiel's Greatsword Farm Route

If you're looking for the weapon on a new character, the general route is straightforward:

Caelid → Redmane Castle → Radahn Festival Arena → Northern/Pillar Area → Leontiel Invasion

The biggest obstacle isn't the route itself but meeting the requirements for the invasion and surviving the NPC encounter. Once obtained, the weapon uses Somber Smithing Stones, so you'll need Somber Smithing Stones 1–9 and an Ancient Dragon Somber Smithing Stone to reach +10.
