PoE 2 0.5.5 Forbidden Rites Best Currency Farm Strats (Atlas & Off-Atlas)

The Forbidden Rites event league has been live for a few days now, and the community is already printing currency faster than ever before. With Rituals appearing in every campaign zone, a reworked Trial of Chaos, Abyss cracks scattered across the Atlas, and juiced Abyssal Depths, the 0.5.5 patch opened the door to some genuinely rewarding farming routes. Whether you are fresh off the campaign with an empty stash or already running tier 15 maps on a five divine budget, having a solid plan will decide how quickly your build comes online. This guide walks through every top-tier farming route being run right now, ranked from most profitable to easiest to pick up, split cleanly between Atlas tree strategies and off-Atlas income methods.

PoE 2 0.5.5 Forbidden Rites Currency Farming Guide

Farming in Forbidden Rites is in a very healthy spot. GGG left build balance untouched for this patch, so every top-tier build from 0.5 is still fully viable, and the changes they did make (Abyss cracks in the Atlas, buffed Abyssal Depths, a much stronger Trial of Chaos, Ritual in every zone, better sacred blooms) have made almost every league mechanic worth engaging with. The biggest takeaway from the community grind so far is that map sustain is a little unreliable, so committing to one Atlas tree focus early on matters far more than trying to juice everything at once.

With that context set, let's get into the two sides of the farming coin. First, we will rank the best Atlas tree strategies you can commit passive points to, and after that we will cover the off-Atlas methods that print divines without ever touching your Atlas passives.

PoE 2 0.5.5 Best Currency Farm Atlas Tree & Map Strategies

Below is a ranking of every serious Atlas farm strategy players are running right now, ordered from strongest to easiest. Each one has an overview followed by the exact setup steps.

1. Grand Expedition (Olroth's Saga Logbooks)

Expedition remains the strongest farm in the game, easily. Even without the old Olroth's Saga chase, the raw ground loot, Verisium remnant rewards, exceptional chest drops, and lineage gem boss fights are absurd. Players are printing 100+ raw divines inside the first 12 to 24 hours of the league doing nothing but expeditions. The catch is that expedition monsters can carry 10 to 20 modifiers at once, becoming as tough as act bosses, so you need a build that can actually kill giga-juiced rares.

How to run it:

  • Use an Olroth's Saga toggled on your logbook. It costs less than half a divine and guarantees an Olroth boss fight with lineage gems (Olroth's Conviction alone sells for 38 divines).

  • Rumors to hunt: Cold as Ice (Frigid Bluffs), Origin of the Fallroth, and Starrinker's Secluded Temple. If a logbook has one solid rumor plus three total, send it.

  • Roll waystones with chaotic quantity so pack size never rolls. Six mod maps are the target.

  • Tablets: use Radiated tablets with rarity, effectiveness, rare monsters, or monster rarity. Around 3 to 60 exalts each, so a full 10-map set costs roughly 1.3 divines.

  • Atlas points: Jado with Unexpected Missions, Eastern Knowledge (reroll remnants), Partial Translations (bonus tablet effect), and Keen Appraisal. Corrupt your tier 16 maps so the map hits ilvl 82 for premium bases.

  • Alternate safer setup: Doriani with Evolutionary Pressure, Stitch the Flesh, Improved Calibration, and Careful Procurement for an extra revive.

  • Priority runes: Opulent (gold) is the top target. Purple runes like Bond, Death, and Power are S-tier. Bordered runes proliferate down the chain, so grab remnants that spread them.

  • Two ways to run it: focus on chests and good Visium remnants only for the safer version, or take every remnant to giga-juice the mob modifier count for max reward.

  • Travel maps: run Delirium with a mirror open + rush to the boss. Sim splinters convert to almost half a divine per map with zero added time.

2. Omen Abyss Farming (Amanamu)

Omen Abyss is the most consistent raw divine printer outside expedition. Since Ritual pushed omens into every zone, the price of common omens dropped, but Omens of Light and Abyssal Echoes are still sitting around 1.6 divines each. Rare monsters in the buffed Abyssal Depths also drop omens now, so full clearing them is worth it. With proper juice, you can expect one to two Omens of Light per map plus level 82 rare jewelry from rogue exiles.

How to run it:

  • Atlas Master: Hilda is preferred right now. Claimed territories have a 45% chance to spawn an extra rogue exile, and you avoid the corruption risk that comes with Jado.

  • Abyss Atlas tree: take Amanamu's faction, Abyss are Scattered, and stack the Amanamu's Void modifier chance through Unholy Influence. Pull Amanamu-influenced rares out of the dark pool before killing them for the good omens.

  • Fill the center of the tree: Strange Aversions, Rotting Bones (more desecrated currency), Vile Treasure (more omens), Close to the Surface (juices Abyssal Depths), Stir the Swarm, and Endless War.

  • Take Lord of the Pit Proliferation early for guaranteed strong boxes from pits.

  • Tablets: one Abyss tablet with 30%+ chance for four additional pits, one Overseer tablet with maps inhabited by one additional rogue exile, one Irradiated tablet with rogue exile mod so maps hit level 80 and items drop at ilvl 82.

  • Maps: six mod maps, rarity helps for Amanamu Omen of Light chance.

  • Do not skip Abyssal Depths or Lightless Voids. Kulemak Invitations sell for around 3.5 divines and the boss guarantees an ancient abyssal bone.

  • Alternative: swap Amanamu for Ulaman if you want simpler kills and pure currency instead of omens.

3. Breach Hiveblood Farming (Genesis Tree)

Breach Hiveblood printing is arguably the most consistent scaling farm in the game right now, sitting around 20 to 26 divines per hour without any big lucky drops. You farm Hiveblood in maps, then spend it at the Genesis Tree to craft Catalysts, Splash Belts, Minion Belts, Absent Amulets, or Caster/Flat Damage Rings. This one does not require cities, but a fast clear speed character helps a lot.

How to run it:

  • Atlas: fully allocate the tree, but the priority node is the one that lets cities count as another biome so you can slot a fourth tablet in city maps.

  • Breach Atlas tree: rush the Breach quest line for the points, then take my preferred Breach setup pathing.

  • Tablets: quantity of Hiveblood is enough. Quantity of Wombgifts is better but pricey.

  • Genesis Tree picks:

    • Catalysts (lavish print): the safest bet right now. Refined and River Catalysts sell for around 1 divine each. Invest in refined catalysts as they will go up as players start crafting jewels.

    • Absent Amulets (ornate): bases sell for 5 to 15 divines. Plus 2 or plus 3 to level of all spells hits for at least 5 divs.

    • Minion Belts: the jackpot line. Level of all minion skills sells for 130+ divines. Splash belts along the way sell for 3 to 15 divines regularly.

    • Caster or Flat Damage Rings: rings for mana stackers, monks, and twister players.

  • Wombgift trick: buy breach splinters, drop them into your Fragment Stash, then sell 300 of them for one divine via the currency exchange and instantly buy them back. This makes ilvl 65 revelatory wombgifts that only cost 400 hiveblood to use.

4. Delirium Lineage Rush

Delirium Lineage Rush is a strong league starter that pairs city hunts, anomaly maps, and matriarch/patriarch hall runs to farm boss loot value plus lineage supports. You also spawn a ton of grand mirrors that let you run your own simulacrums for free voices. It does require a character that can run eight mod maps with zero portals to maximize the fragment drops from citadel bosses.

How to run it:

  • Run 3x Delirium tablets while pathing towards cities, anomalies, and matriarch/patriarch halls.

  • Focus on the high boss loot content. Citadel bosses drop up to three fragments each when running powerful waystones with waystone drop chance tablets.

  • Use the grand mirrors to spawn your own delirium and farm sim splinters for voices, which are one of the priciest league items.

  • Not recommended if your build can't safely handle max-juiced eight mod maps.

5. Ritual Farming (Tribute Deferring)

Ritual is the theme mechanic of Forbidden Rites, and because every map has Ritual altars, this route works in almost any setup. The chase drops are Mageblood and Headhunter, and both dropped from ritual in the first days of the league without perfect tablets. The main scaling stat is pack size, since pack size scales tribute directly.

How to run it:

  • Path down to Karth first through the Delirium section of the Atlas tree to grab the Ritual points. Deferring drops is the whole game plan, so getting these points before you get a Mageblood roll is a must.

  • First point to grab: Patient Devotion (50% reduced tribute for deferring favors).

  • Then take the Tainted with the Selection toggle to bias drops towards belts (Mageblood territory).

  • Avoid Man Trap (bugged, rogue exiles don't spawn inside essences) and Survival of the Fittest.

  • Doriani + Stitch the Flesh gives you a second portal, key for eight mod max pack size maps.

  • Tablets: fish for two mods with the Alchemy Orb method. The two target mods are "ritual favors have 70% increased chance to be omens" (common, easy) and "ritual altars allow rerolling favors one to three additional times" (rare, worth 4 to 8 divines per tablet with 10 uses).

  • Freedom of Faith unique tablet with a head of the king chain: start the chain with reroll or favor mods, end it with divine/chaos orb rewards.

  • Pulling logic: defer everything you want (mageblood, headhunter, plus4 fireflower, whitling omens). Never reroll past a chase item. Skip sacred blooms early league.

6. Breach Rares

Breach rares was previously an S-tier route but got hit with a small nerf in 0.5.5 (three additional rares per tablet reduced to two), moving it firmly into A-tier. Still a solid income source if you already have breach juice built out, just not as strong as pure Hiveblood printing right now.

7. Ritual Belt Farming

Pure ritual belt farming has dropped in value now that everyone is running ritual and belt supply is up. Omens are cheaper than before. It moves up if omen prices climb later in the league.

8. Abyss Rogue Exile / Heart of the Well

The Heart of the Well diamond farm is the easiest chill starter strat. You stack rogue exiles through tablets and the Atlas tree, and rogue exiles consumed by abysses drop Heart of the Well diamonds worth 3 to 4 divines base, or double/triple digit divines with good mods. Diamond supply seems lower this patch though (possibly nerfed or diluted by ritual spawns), so scaling is limited.

How to run it:

  • Same Abyss + Overseer + Irradiated tablet stack as the Omen Abyss route, but with rogue exile mods on all three.

  • Hilda for the 45% chance to add another rogue exile through claimed territories.

  • Roll diamonds at the Well of Souls using Omen of Abyssal Echoes on the first row. If you hit extra fire, cold, or lightning damage, spend another omen on the fourth row (those mods can only appear on rows 1 and 4).

PoE 2 0.5.5 Best Off-Atlas Currency Earning Methods

Now that the Atlas side is covered, let's move to the off-Atlas methods. These are things you can layer on top of any farm route above, and they generate serious side income without changing your passive point allocation. Ranked from highest earnings potential to easiest to run.

1. Delirium Boss Rush on Travel Maps

This is the go-to travel map layer for expedition runners, but it works on any map route. You just open the delirium mirror at the start of a map, rush to the boss, and end the delirium at the finish. Zero extra time, roughly a third of a divine per map in sim splinters, and free bonus loot from delirium's inherent quantity buff.

How to run it:

  • Tablets: one prefix with rarity, effectiveness, monster rarity, or rare monsters. Suffixes are the priority: unique monsters, fracturing mirrors, or sim splinters. Around 10 to 20 exalts per tablet.

  • Atlas: Jado with Unexpected Missions, Eastern Knowledge, Partial Translations, Keen Appraisal, plus six points into the Delirium tree for sim splinter drops from delirium.

  • Priority: hit orange points of interest (guaranteed boss fights, deli bosses drop 10 to 15 splinters). Ignore the guaranteed reward if it's under a third of a divine, reroll with liquid visium.

2. Berek's Ring → Taming Ring Trade at Osmiran Ranges

A hidden trade in Osmiran Ranges lets you exchange three Berek's rings (Pass, Grip, and Respite) for one Taming ring in the secret forge. The three input rings cost around 13 divines total, and an identified Taming sells for roughly 18 divines. Unidentified Taming rings can sometimes sell for around 20 divines depending on the market. Free 5 divines per conversion, and Osmiran Ranges maps drop naturally while running any strategy.

3. Citadel Fragment Farming

Copper Citadel, Iron Citadel, and Stone Citadel bosses each drop up to three fragments when run with pumped waystone drop chance tablets. Patriarch and Matriarch Halls also drop fragments. Fragments go for a few divines each right now, so a single citadel run stacked with the right tablets is 6 to 9 divine bonus income on top of your regular map loot.

4. Jade Isle for Rakiata / Support Gem Rerollers

Jade Isle can drop the rakiata quest item (via Utrid saga logbooks) which converts into a 200 to 500 divine wand if you have 10,000 mana. One per account only, so run the Utrid saga occasionally alongside Oloth. Jade Isle maps also drop expensive support gem rerollers.

5. Kulemak Invitations from Lightless Voids

Every time an Abyssal Depths spawns as a Lightless Void variant, the boss guarantees an Ancient Abyssal Bone drop plus a Kulemak Invitation worth 3.5 divines. Preserved collarbones from the boss also sell for close to half a divine each. Never skip a Lightless Void when running Abyss.

6. Splinter to Wombgift Fragment Stash Trick

Breach splinters placed in a Fragment Stash Tab do not auto-combine. You can list 300 breach splinters in your currency exchange for one divine and buy them back instantly, which creates an ilvl 65 revelatory wombgift. That wombgift only costs 400 hiveblood at the Genesis Tree instead of the normal 800+, so you are basically converting 400 hiveblood into one divine. Insane trick, works today.

7. Cheap Glove & Helmet Slam Crafting

The best low-investment crafting flip in 0.5.5. Start with a magic base glove or helmet with life and no energy shield, augment with resistances (fire, cold, lightning, chaos), regal into a rare with rarity or damage mods, then use a Greater Essence of Insulation, Grounding, or Thawing to guarantee a fourth resistance. Finish with a Preserved Rib desecration for a targeted suffix if you can afford ribs, or straight slam exalted orbs if broke. Every craft under 10 exalts sells for 20 to 45 exalts, and occasional hits reach 3 to 4 divines. Corrupt cheap items with Vaal Orbs to fish for socket or fire penetration corruptions that bump the price up.

8. Trial of Chaos (Low Investment Currency)

Trial of Chaos got massively improved in 0.5.5 and is now a solid low-investment currency source. Very easy compared to juiced tier 15 maps, and rewarding enough to grab a handful of divines while ascending your character. Great option for players still on the broke side of things right off the campaign.

9. Anomaly / Mansion in the Mists Rerollers

Anomaly maps and special maps like Mansion in the Mists have a chance to drop very expensive support gem rerollers. Layer these into your travel routes to grab freebies while passing through.
