In celebration of the Lunar (Chinese) New Year, the Diablo 4 Lunar Awakening event goes live on February 6, 2024, and it will end on February 20, 2024.

Diablo 4 Lunar Awakening Ancestral Favor & Ancestors’ Favor

How does the Lunar event work in D4? To activate the event, you need to go into the Ked Bardu and speak to Ying-Yue. After that, you will see an Ancestral Favor reputation board that shows your current Ancestral Favor tier, there are 10 tiers to complete, you need to get Ancestral Favor to unlock all of the tiers and rewards. Use Lunar shrines in dungeons and in the overworld, as well as killing enemies will grant you Ancestral Favor, which acts similar to XP.

Ancestors’ Favor is different from Ancestral Favor, this is a Nightmare Dungeon affix where extra Lunar Shrines appear, and you can get 10% more Glyph experience at the end of the dungeon. This affix will transform the standard shrines into Lunar Shrines.

How to Get Shrines in Diablo 4 Lunar Awakening?

Lunar Shrine comes with new effects, if you are affected by a Lunar Shrine, you can get 50% bonus XP and corresponding Ancestral Favors, the XP bonus you are getting is only active when you have the shrine itself, it does not help much while leveling.

In terms of the locations of Lunar Shrines, you can find them fast in Sanctuary by seeking out purple asterisks on the mini-map, to guarantee the spawns of Lunar Shrines, you’ll have to complete a Cleanse Shrine bounty for the Tree of Whispers and use a Nightmare Sigil with the Ancestors’ Favor affix.
