This article discusses when Season 2 of the global version of Aion 2 will be released and what players can expect from the new season.

AION 2 Season 2 Release Date (Global)
The Aion 2 Season 2 global launch date is widely expected to be December 16, 2026. This date is the main target for the global server’s next major seasonal update.
Korean and Taiwan servers run on a separate seasonal schedule. Their Season 4 brought the Brawler class, the Growth Support catch-up system and the new regions Eltnen for Elyos and Morheim for Asmodian. KR and TW servers are much further ahead in the content cycle than the global server, so their Season 4 content is what players use as a reference to guess what global Season 2 may include. There is no guarantee NCSoft will copy this content one-to-one for global Season 2.
AION 2 Season 2 New Content
Aion 2 Season 2 will bring a meaningful amount of endgame content, especially heroic gear, new dungeons, the Corroded Decontamination Facility raid, stigma upgrades and Nightmare Layer 2. The Growth Support catch-up system is the most exciting quality-of-life feature for new players and class rerolls, but its arrival is not confirmed. The Brawler class is still likely to be a later release, though many players hope for an early surprise launch.
Keep in mind that NCSoft has not released an official global Season 2 roadmap, so some parts are educated guesses instead of confirmed facts. The global version may adjust rewards, gear score targets and release timing before the patch goes live.
Gear Updates
The biggest gear change for Season 2 is the arrival of heroic gear. Right now global servers only have unique (golden) gear. Heroic gear drops from the new dungeons and raids, and it will also be added to the crafting system. This means crafters will be able to make heroic gear once the patch hits.
The Growth Support catch-up system from KR/TW also gives pre-rolled gear, including weapons with fixed stats such as might, combat speed, precision and damage boost. This gear is not best-in-slot, but it lets new or swapped characters hit a solid gear score quickly.
Dungeons
Season 2 is set to add several new dungeons, with difficulty tiers and new loot pools.
Dying Dramata's Nest and Cradle of Nihility: These are the most likely new dungeons for Season 2. They drop heroic gear.
Hall of Illusion and Azure Breath Island: These may also arrive, though this is less certain.
Transcendent dungeons: Global players may get Life Temple, and possibly Mirror of Scarlet Desire. These come with new Arcana card sets as rewards.
Daily and weekly dungeon adjustments: A new daily repository dungeon could be added, which gives pet fragments to speed up pet progression.
Hard modes for existing dungeons such as Horn Den and Vakron may launch before Season 2, rather than inside the Season 2 patch.
Raid Content
The 10-player Corroded Decontamination Facility raid is the top endgame raid most expected for Season 2. It is a Sanctuary-type raid and also drops heroic gear. The KR/TW servers already have extra raids such as Chalice of Muspel and Snowfield of Sorrow, but these are not expected to appear in Season 2.
The first global raid, Ludra, may start dropping heroic gear in Season 2, though there is a small chance this change lands earlier.
Catch-Up Mechanics: Growth Support
Growth Support is the major catch-up system from KR/TW Season 4, and it is what players hope to see in global Season 2. It is designed for new players and anyone who wants to reroll a new class, since there is no official class change ticket available right now.
How it works:
You can activate it on a brand-new character or an existing character. Most players use it for a fresh alt.
You follow normal quests and progression from level 1 up to level 45 (or level 50 on KR/TW). You still run sealed dungeons, hidden dungeons, strongholds, exploration dungeons, conquest dungeons and transcendence content as usual.
Completing missions gives huge automatic boosts. The pet system jumps straight to max level, and every genus insight node goes to level 10 instantly. You still need to collect crystals to reroll genus stats after this boost.
You get pre-rolled gear through the track, which pushes your gear score above 3500 on KR/TW. Global Season 2 may use a lower target like 2800 or 3000 instead.
One important restriction: Growth Support tokens are locked behind the monthly in-game membership subscription, which costs around $15 per month on global servers. You cannot buy the activation tokens without an active membership. The system has four separate tracks: Taking Flight, New World Explorer, and Slow but Steady, plus one more segment.
NCSoft has not confirmed if Growth Support will come for global Season 2. It may be saved for Season 3 or 4 instead.
Nightmare
Nightmare, a key endgame system for character power statues, unlocks Layer 2 in Season 2. This adds the Kaisinel's Illusion boss, new statues and better rewards. The Nightmare trade shop will refresh its rewards, including Ariel crystals. Higher layers (3 and 4) are planned for later seasons.
Daevonian Board
The Marchutan Daevonian board is expected to launch in Season 2. Yustiel will likely be delayed until Season 3 or 4. The Ariel system is already present on KR/TW servers and will be part of this Daevonian update.
Stigma and Skill Changes
Two big skill updates are coming:
Stigma skills can be leveled up to level 25, up from the current level 20 cap.
Players can equip six stigma skills at the same time, instead of the current four. The total number of stigma skills per class stays at 13.
Arcana System
New Arcana card sets will be added alongside the new transcendent dungeons. Collecting these cards gives extra power and opens new build options.
Ascension Trial
Superior Manastones may start dropping from Ascension Trial in Season 2. This is a widely hoped-for change, though it could be pushed to an earlier small patch.
Abyss and PvP
New Abyss maps will arrive in Season 2. KR/TW servers use a real Abyss gear system, while global currently only has Abyss skins. It is unclear whether global will switch to the KR/TW gear system, or just add new medals and new skin parts for Season 2.
Bound Kinah Adjustments
KR/TW servers have added much more bound AION 2 kinah in lower-level dungeons, transcendent dungeons and conquest dungeons. This limits alt farming. Global may copy this rule, or it may keep the current kinah rules unchanged.
Season Shop and Season Reset
The Season 2 season pass and season shop reset. Seasonal rewards, materials, costumes and skins will rotate. Your gear and permanent character progress will not be wiped; only the seasonal track and shop reset.
Cosmetics, Mounts and Pets
More mounts, pets and wing skins will enter the shop and dungeon reward pools. Some of these are cosmetic-only, while certain pets help with progression.
Content Not Expected in Season 2
These features are on KR/TW servers but are generally expected for Season 3, Season 4 or later updates in 2027:
New regions Eltnen (Elyos) and Morheim (Asmodians)
Level 50 cap
Guild naval content
Housing system
Fishing
Capital cities: Sanctum, Pandemonium
