Diablo 2 Resurrected Ladder Reset Schedule

In order to free up more time and energy for the release of Diablo 4, Blizzard rolled out Season 4 in Diablo 2 Resurrected in advance on May 4. With the 2.7 patch, players can still enjoy some new game mechanics to level up new characters and hone shiny gear. But now, some players have started to feel lackluster, so for the most advanced and experienced D2R dungeon crawlers, the question is when the fifth season of Diablo 4 will start, although it may be because the developers focus on Diablo 4 makes it unlikely we'll get exciting content in the D2R 2.8 patch. When will the 2.8 ladder reset happen in Diablo 2 Resurrected?

We predict the D2R Season 5 start date is likely to be set at the end of August or early September and Season 4 will end at the same time, and maybe on August 31st (Thursday) or September 7th (Thursday), based on the below reasons: 

  • Although Blizzard moved forward the release of D2R season 4 for a smoother release of D4 so that Season 3 lasted less than 3 months, after that we believe that the 4-month cycle of the season will continue.

  • Diablo 4 Season 1 starts on July 20th and lasts for 3 months, after which developers can spare more energy to prepare for the D2R season. And the end of August and the beginning of September are just a good time to carry out a D2R ladder reset!

  • Since the start time of each season in the past is set on Thursday, we speculate that the specific schedule of the D2R Season 5 start date is likely to be August 31st (Thursday) or September 7th (Thursday).


D2R 2.8 Patch Release Date

According to the above forecasted Season 5 start time, we think that the 2.8 patch is likely to be released on August 29th or September 5th, 2 days before the ladder reset. Also, we don't think a PTR for the 2.8 patch will be released early, because it seems unlikely that we can expect Blizzard to bring us too much exciting content in Diablo 2 Resurrected, although still for D2R loyal players hope.
