With so many years between New Leaf and New Horizons, you may get disappointed because it is hard to tell when we will get a new Animal Crossing game, but ACNH got huge success once it’s revealed and a new Nintendo console is probably coming out, it is reasonable to get a new Animal Crossing installment.

What the new Animal Crossing game could potentially include? Animal Crossing New Horizons is focusing on a specific theme, players start with a bare island and can do tons of different things there including fully customizing the island, just like the real world. Why would not the next game be the same? It can center around different themes, even though we are not sure what Nintendo will choose, it makes sense that go with a new theme instead of going back to just living in one of the default cities or towns that we used to play in the older games.

When it comes to its main features and functions, it is probably going to mimic New Leaf and New Horizons and focus on community and decorating, befriending villagers, and creating a nice aesthetic, but maybe they’ll take advantage of the online features at the Switch or the new console, then let fans co-decorate on each other’s worlds, especially if you are working on one big build or one that has a lot of little details, having some friends to come and help will speed up your build and make it more creative. Farming is also an important feature in ACNH, it allows us to plant and harvest vegetables and other crops, also able to get some cute Animal Crossing furniture items for the farm, but a little bit more things could be done, for example, seasonal crops, flowers fertilizers, and more furniture items can be added.

Before you arrive on your island, you talked to Timmy and Tommy, and they collect your necessary data including name, birthday, and more, in the old games, similar pieces of information would be collected in a similar way, but other bits of information would be asked by your villagers when you arrive to your town. So it is likely that the next Animal Crossing game will include a similar function, they might rely solely on villagers for all of your information, or mix the airport and train, their typical ways of gathering information, maybe the game could start where we're already plopped into our new home environment.

When will the next Animal Crossing game come out? What can we expect after ACNH is a new Animal Crossing game with a fun theme that contrasts New Horizons, and still makes use of all of the best features from the AC series. But it is unknown when will the next installment will come out, if Nintendo wants to release the new game as soon as possible on their next console, we can expect that in 2024, it is unlikely to launch a more powerful Switch console in 2023.
