ACNH Bunny Day Event 2026 Guide

Rooted in the real-world Easter tradition, Bunny Day is a staple seasonal event in the Animal Crossing series, and in ACNH, it centers around Zipper T. Bunny—a cheerful rabbit who hosts the island’s egg hunt and rewards players with limited-edition Bunny Day Series items. Unlike previous years, the 2026 Bunny Day celebration follows a streamlined schedule, lasting for one full week before the main event day.

The core gameplay of Bunny Day 2026 remains egg collection: players find six unique types of eggs across their island and Mystery Tours, which are used to craft Bunny Day furniture, clothing, and decorations. Villagers join in the fun too—they’ll talk about Bunny Day nonstop, share egg-hunting hints, and even gift exclusive DIY recipes. Nook’s Cranny also gets in on the action with seasonal Bunny Day items for sale, making 2026’s event a perfect mix of classic gameplay and convenient rewards for both new and veteran players.

ACNH Bunny Day 2026 Dates

Bunny Day in Animal Crossing New Horizons always falls on a Sunday between March 22 and April 25, and the 2026 edition follows a specific rule: the first Sunday after the first full moon on or after March 21. The official schedule for Bunny Day 2026 is fixed as:

  • Celebration Period: March 29 – April 4 (7 days of egg hunting, DIY recipe collection, and pre-event fun)

  • Bunny Day Main Event: April 5 (Zipper T. Bunny’s final appearance with exclusive rewards)

Zipper T. Bunny will appear on the first day of the celebration (March 29)to kick off the egg hunt and give initial hints, then return on April 5outside Resident Services for the main event rewards and egg trades.

Types of ACNH Bunny Day Eggs (2026)

Eggs are the foundation of Bunny Day 2026—you’ll collect six distinct types, each found in a different location on your island or Mystery Tours. All eggs except Sky Eggs have a higher spawn rate on Mystery Islands, so don’t forget to use your Nook Miles Tickets to explore! Below is a detailed breakdown of how to find each egg, plus pro tips for maximizing collection:

1. Earth Egg

  • Location: Buried in the ground, marked with a small star (just like fossil spots).

  • Spawn Rate: Max 10 spawn on your island per day during the celebration period (March 29–April 4); max 15 spawn on Bunny Day (April 5).

  • Tip: Walk around your island and look for star-shaped dirt mounds—dig them up with a shovel. Check open areas like fields and beaches for the most spawns.

2. Leaf Egg

  • Location: Grows on hardwood trees (only hardwood trees, not cedar or coconut trees).

  • How to Collect: Shake the tree to knock the eggs down (each egg-bearing hardwood tree has 3 green Leaf Eggs).

  • Tip: Shake trees one at a time to avoid wasps—hold a net while shaking to catch wasps if they appear! Eggs respawn on trees the next day, so shake all hardwood trees daily.

3. Sky Egg

  • Location: Dropped by striped balloonsfloating across your island (rainbow-themed for Bunny Day).

  • How to Collect: Shoot the balloon with a slingshot (a net works too!). Key Note: Sky Eggs only spawn on your island (not Mystery Tours) and do notaffect the spawn rate of regular gift balloons.

  • Tip: Balloon spawn rates increase as Bunny Day nears—turn up your game sound to hear balloons floating by (they make a soft whirring noise). Balloons travel east to west or west to east, so stand on the beach for the best shot.

4. Stone Egg

  • Location: Dispensed randomly when hitting rocks with a shovel or axe (alongside regular materials like stone, iron, or gold).

  • Spawn Note: Rock material drop rates change if you’ve built Nook’s Cranny—you’ll still get Stone Eggs, but regular materials may spawn less often.

  • Tip: Maximize rock hits (8 hits per rock) by standing close and digging a 3-tile barrier behind you to avoid moving. Hit rocks on Mystery Islands for a higher chance of Stone Eggs!

5. Water Egg

  • Location: Caught while fishing for medium-sized fish shadowsin rivers, ponds, and the sea (all water bodies on your island).

  • Key Note: Water Eggs look exactly like medium fish shadows—skip tiny or giant shadows to target them.

  • Pro Tip: Do not use fish bait—it only spawns regular fish, not Water Eggs. If Water Eggs aren’t spawning on your island, head to a Mystery Island for better luck.

6. Wood Egg

  • Location: Dispensed randomly when chopping trees with an axe (coconut/palm trees have a higher drop ratethan hardwood or cedar trees).

  • How to Collect: Chop the tree 3 times for a chance at Wood Eggs (use a flimsy or stone axe to avoid cutting the tree down!).

  • Critical Tip: Never use a regular axe—chopping a tree down with it means no more Wood Eggs or Leaf Eggs from that tree! Flimsy/stone axes let you harvest wood and eggs without destroying the tree, which respawns materials the next day.

Full List of ACNH Bunny Day Series Items 2026

The Bunny Day Series is the exclusive seasonal furniture and decor set for Bunny Day in Animal Crossing: New Horizons, known as the Easter Series in Japanese to match the event’s real-world inspiration. Every item in this series features bright, colorful decorated eggs, designed to match the six egg types (Earth, Leaf, Sky, Stone, Water, Wood) collected during the event. The set includes themed wallpaper with colorful eggs and pink/blue bunny heads, plus green zig-zag flooring covered in painted egg patterns—perfect for creating a festive spring space on your island.

All core Bunny Day Series items are crafted using the six event-exclusive eggs, gathered by digging, rock-hitting, tree-chopping, fishing, tree-shaking, or balloon-popping. DIY recipes for the set are unlocked via event balloons, beach message bottles, villagers, or Zipper T. Bunny himself. Notably, no villagers own Bunny Day Series items in their homes, making this set a fully player-exclusive collection. A total of 40 Bunny Day DIY recipes exist in ACNH, spanning furniture, decor, clothing, and special items; some extra Bunny Day goods are also sold at Nook’s Cranny, while rare reward items are gifted by Zipper. The Bunny Day Wand is a special reward tied to the event but is not officially part of the Bunny Day Series.

ACNH Bunny Day 2026 Main Activities (March 29 – April 5)

The Bunny Day celebration is split into two phases: the 7-day pre-event (March 29–April 4) for egg collection and recipe crafting, and the main event (April 5) for exclusive rewards and egg trades with Zipper T. Bunny. Below is a day-by-day guide to the key activities, plus how to make the most of each phase:

Phase 1: Pre-Event (March 29 – April 4) – Egg Hunt & Crafting

  • March 29 (First Day): Zipper T. Bunny appears on your island (look around—he’s not in a fixed spot!) to kick off the event. Talk to him for your first egg hints and a chance at the Bunny Day Bed recipe. Start your egg hunt immediately—focus on collecting all six egg types to unlock your first clothing recipes.

  • Daily Routine (March 30 – April 4): Collect all eggs on your island (dig Earth Eggs, shake Leaf Eggs, shoot Sky Eggs, hit rocks for Stone Eggs, fish for Water Eggs, chop trees for Wood Eggs); use Nook Miles Tickets to visit Mystery Islands for higher egg spawns; check beaches for rainbow-labeled message bottles and shoot down striped balloons for recipes; talk to every villager (including crafting villagers) for recipes and hints; craft unlocked DIYs and save extra eggs; visit Nook’s Cranny daily for seasonal Bunny Day items.

Phase 2: Main Event (April 5) – Zipper’s Rewards & Egg Trades

On Bunny Day itself, Zipper T. Bunny spawns outside Resident Services all day, villagers wear Bunny Day outfits, and Earth Egg spawns peak at 15 per island. Key activities include:

  • Get the Bunny Day Basket: Trade 1 of each egg type to Zipper for this exclusive decor item (unlimited trades with enough eggs)

  • Egg Exchange: Trade 3 identical eggs for 1 egg of your choice to fix surplus/shortage issues

  • Unlock Rare Rewards: Craft all 15 non-clothing DIYs, Bunny Day Bag, and Bunny Day Crown to get Wobbling Zipper Toy and Bunny Day Wand recipes from Zipper

  • Veteran Player Perk: Returning players who completed past Bunny Days get the Bunny Day Wand instantly from Zipper

Pro Tips for a Successful Bunny Day 2026

  • Prioritize Mystery Islands for higher non-Sky Egg spawns to farm rare eggs faster

  • Use flimsy/stone axes for tree-chopping to preserve trees and daily egg/wood drops

  • Skip fish bait for Water Eggs—only regular fish spawn with bait, so head to Mystery Islands instead

  • Talk to all villagers twice daily (morning and afternoon) to grab rare recipes like Bunny Day Crown and Bag

  • Stock up on slingshots to shoot down every Bunny Day balloon for recipes and Sky Eggs

  • Time travel is allowed (no event locks) if you miss the 2026 dates, to complete the event later
