Diablo 4 2000+ Treasure Goblin Spawn Exploit & Farm Guide (Season 13 & LoH)

Treasure Goblins have always been one of the most exciting sights in any Diablo game, and Season 13 Lord of Hatred has taken that excitement to a whole new level. Players have figured out ways to spawn thousands of these little loot piñatas in a single nightmare dungeon, turn themselves into a goblin, and even quadruple their rewards from the secret goblin dungeon. If you have been wondering how some streamers are drowning in set items and mythics, this guide will walk you through every trick currently being used.

Diablo 4 Season 13 Treasure Goblin Spawn Exploit & Breach Farm Guide

Diablo 4 Season 13 Treasure Goblin Spawn Exploit & Farm Guide

Season 13 has become the wildest goblin-farming season the game has ever seen. Between the new war plan nodes, clever shrine interactions, and a few exploitable bugs in the secret goblin dungeon, players are pulling off loot explosions that literally crash the game from too many items dropping at once. Some lucky barbarians have already cleared over 2,400 goblins in a single key.

Below, we will go over what Treasure Goblins are, what they drop, how to spawn 2,000+ of them in one dungeon, how to farm the triple secret goblin dungeon, and even how to transform yourself into a Treasure Goblin.

What Do Treasure Goblins Drop?

Treasure Goblins are essentially walking loot bags. Depending on the variant, you can expect:

  • Massive piles of D4 gold and gems

  • Rare and legendary equipment

  • Set items, which currently take drop priority when too many items spawn at once

  • Mythic items, which also take priority and can be identified by their mythic star marker

  • Forgotten souls and crafting materials

  • A chance to leave a portal to the secret goblin dungeon (only when you have the Greed Is Good node)

During the 2,000+ goblin runs, players have reported pulling enough set items to last them years, since the game's hardcoded item drop cap kicks in and filters out everything except sets and mythics.

How To Get 2,400 Goblin Spawns in 1 Dungeon

Now that you know what is at stake, let's get into the actual setup for the infinite goblin chain. This is the same tech used in the corrupted root farming strategy, but applied to goblins for absurd results.

The Required Setup

You need two specific things prepared before you even enter the dungeon:

  • The Gauntlet node in your war plans. This node states: "While in a nightmare dungeon, slaying enemies while empowered by shrine traps their souls within. When the shrine buff expires, all trapped souls escape and spawn around you as renewed enemies."

  • A nightmare dungeon sigil with shrines as a modifier. It does not matter which shrine type - lethal, blast wave, channeling, protection, artillery — any of them work.

You will want a sigil that contains three or more shrines, since each shrine extends the chain reaction further.

Step-by-Step Execution

Once you are inside the dungeon, here is the exact order of operations:

  1. Scout the dungeon first and locate every shrine before engaging anything important.

  2. Pray for a blue goblin to spawn. This is the pure RNG portion of the strategy, roughly a 1 in 50 chance per run.

  3. Activate the first shrine, then kill the blue goblin. As it splits into smaller goblins, kill those too. All of their souls are now stored within the shrine buff.

  4. Move to the second shrine, but do NOT activate it yet. Wait for the first shrine buff to expire so the stored goblins respawn around you.

  5. The moment the goblins start respawning, click the second shrine BEFORE killing any of them. Now kill them all again while the second shrine is active. The stored count grows exponentially.

  6. Repeat the chain with a third (and ideally fourth) shrine. Each iteration multiplies the goblin count.

Why The Goblin Numbers Get So Crazy

With four shrines, the chain can theoretically reach upwards of 10,000 goblins. One barbarian was tracked at 2,400 goblins in his achievement counter from a single key. The community member FP, who originally posted this exploit, reported counts like 7 → 49 → 347 → 399+ stored souls across just a few shrines.

The game's hardcoded item cap means once you cross a certain threshold, only set items and mythics will continue to drop. So if you do not have a strict loot filter, expect dozens of town trips just to clear your inventory.

Is It Patched?

Some players claim Blizzard has already attempted to fix this, while others insist it is still working as intended. The interaction technically obeys the war plan text exactly: it stores the souls of enemies killed under a shrine. Since the small goblins from a blue goblin split are still enemies, they get stored too. Try it quickly before any future hotfixes.

How To Farm The Triple Secret Goblin Dungeon?

If grinding regular nightmare dungeons for a blue goblin sounds too RNG-heavy, there is another method using the secret goblin dungeon. Credit again goes to FP for figuring this one out.

Getting Into The Secret Goblin Dungeon

You will need the Greed Is Good nightmare dungeon war plan node. This gives a small chance for any killed goblin to leave behind a portal to the secret goblin dungeon. Getting in is the hardest part since the drop chance is very low.

The Quadruple Boss Kill Strategy

Once inside, you only need one node to make this work: the Gauntlet node. Normally bosses are not affected by shrine storage, but the goblin boss in the secret goblin dungeon is an exception, which is what makes this exploit possible.

Follow these steps carefully:

  1. Scout the shrines first. Locate both shrines in the dungeon and memorize their positions.

  2. Activate the first shrine, then run into the boss's lair. Kill the boss, destroy the chest (which spawns the five associated goblins), and slaughter the goblins while the shrine is still active.

  3. Run back to the first area where the second shrine is located. Do NOT click it yet.

  4. Wait for the first shrine to expire. The boss and goblins will respawn around you. Do not kill them yet.

  5. Activate the second shrine, then kill everything that just spawned — boss, goblins, and the chest's spawned goblins all over again.

  6. Wait for the second shrine to expire. Now two bosses and a ridiculous amount of goblins will spawn together. Kill them all and loot.

The Bonus Fourth Run

Here is where it gets even better. After looting:

  • Use your own teleport (not the dungeon's end portal) to return to town.

  • Once in town, use your town portal to return.

  • Due to an additional bug, you will be sent to a brand new instance of the secret goblin dungeon, where you can kill the boss one more time. The shrines will not be present this time, so it is just a single kill.

By the end, you will have killed the boss four total times and harvested the goblin spawns three full times. This effectively quadruples your normal secret goblin dungeon loot.

Since this involves storing a boss with the gauntlet node, expect this one to get hotfixed quickly. Try it as soon as you can.

How To Turn Into A Treasure Goblin in Diablo 4 Lord of Hatred?

This last trick is less about loot and more about the sheer novelty of becoming a Treasure Goblin yourself, walking around, and exploding into your own pile of loot.

The Required Nodes

You will need two specific war plan nodes:

  • Horadric Hunter - Spawns a random altar every 25 elites killed (the tooltip says 20, but it is actually 25). The kill counter persists across multiple nightmare dungeons.

  • Altar of Everest - Guarantees that the spawned altar is a goblin altar.

How It Works

After killing 25 elites across nightmare dungeons, a goblin altar will appear. Clicking it normally spawns one to two regular treasure goblins, but there is a small chance (around 5%) that instead of spawning goblins, you transform into a treasure goblin yourself with a bright flash.

While transformed, you have:

  • Around 5 seconds of goblin form

  • Goblin-like skills similar to mount abilities

  • An explosion of loot at the end that resembles a single treasure goblin's drop

The transformation is not permanent, and you will revert back to your character even if you do nothing. In terms of loot, it is not particularly impressive, but it is a fun, rare interaction worth trying at least once.

Optimal Farming Setup

To maximize your chances of triggering this transformation, run nightmare dungeons with:

  • The Gauntlet node for general loot efficiency

  • The Nemesis node for additional elite spawns

Farm nightmare dungeons back-to-back, kill as many elites as possible, and stack altar spawns until you get lucky with the goblin transformation roll.

Season 13 Lord of Hatred has turned goblin hunting into one of the most rewarding activities in the entire game. Between the 2,000+ goblin shrine chain, the quadruple secret goblin dungeon run, and the rare chance to become a goblin yourself, there has never been a better time to drop everything and start hunting. Just keep in mind that most of these tricks rely on bugs or clever interactions that Blizzard may patch out at any moment, so get out there and farm while you still can. Good luck, and may your screen be filled with set items and mythics.
