Diablo 4 Season 15 Tier List - Best Builds for Each Class (3.2 PTR)

The Season 15 PTR patch notes have arrived, bringing a fresh wave of buffs, nerfs, and new content that will reshape how every class plays. From the return of legacy uniques like Leoric's Crown and the Ring of Royal Grandeur, to the addition of soul splinters and the new Horadric Cube mythic upgrade system, the game is heading into a very different place.  With this Diablo 4 Season 15 Tier List, we take an early look at how each class has been affected and which build looks like the strongest pick for every class for leveling and endgame (the Pit & T15 Torment) in the new season.

Diablo 4 Season 15 Tier List - Best Builds for Each Class (3.2 PTR)

Season 15 leans heavily on power creep from new socketable gems and legacy uniques, while class balance takes a mixed approach. Warlock received the biggest patch notes in the entire game and is expected to be the strongest class by a wide margin. Rogue barely got touched but stays extremely well-balanced across many builds. Barbarian took some heavy hits to Ramaladni and its ancient scaling, but retains enough raw power to blast every difficulty tier. Meanwhile, Druid and Necromancer sit in a rough spot, with Druid seeing overly heavy-handed nerfs to Might of the Ursine and Storm Shepherd's Talisman, and Necromancer getting almost nothing in return for years of underperformance.

Now that we have the general picture, let's look at where each class ranks going into the PTR.

Diablo 4 Season 15 Best Class Ranking with Changes

Here is the projected class ranking based on the 3.1 PTR patch notes:

S Tier

  • Warlock – Nearly every unique buffed, aspects reworked to give damage reduction plus offense, insane multipliers on Overwhelming Aspect (up to 5.76x with hexed elites), and multiple new build archetypes viable. Blazing Scream, Apocalypse, and Backpack Abaddon look absurd.

  • Rogue – Very few changes, no meaningful nerfs, still has more viable build variety than any other class. Combo point cycle change from 3→1 to 1→3 is a nice quality-of-life bump.

A Tier

  • Barbarian – Strength scaling reduced (0.8% per 10 strength), Ramaladni changed to -10% max fury per second (kills static builds), and ancient nerfs. Still ends up strong thanks to weapon slots and Ring of Red Furor now giving easy 100% crit chance to core skills.

  • Spiritborn – Counterattack Swarm base damage halved, but the new Swarm of Storms paragon board grants 80% multiplicative damage to pestilent swarms and spirit storm skills. Firestorm and Eagle Soul Feathers builds are back in play.

B Tier

  • Sorcerer – Small buffs to Fire Frozen Orb, Cold Fireball, and Ball Lightning (which can now cast while moving again). Firewall got gutted since it now only works with pyro skills, and the class as a whole did not get enough love.

  • Paladin – Fist of the Heavens buffed, judgment stacking is easier, but sets like Righteous Will and Radiant Fire remain awkward. Aura Potency stat is still undertuned.

C Tier

  • Druid – Might of the Ursine dropped from 13% to 4%, Storm Shepherd's Talisman no longer stacks (dropping storm builds from a 1.2 million% multiplier down to just 80%), and Red Wolf Moon Flicker Wolf setup is gone. Companion builds return as the strongest option.

  • Necromancer – Received a 22% core stat damage bump but almost no meaningful build support. Azurath is dead in an area sense (now single target only), killing most freeze builds. Blood skills got zero buffs.

Diablo 4 Season 15 Best Builds for Each Class (3.2 PTR)

With the tier list established, let's move into the strongest builds coming out of each class in the PTR.

1. Warlock – Blazing Scream (Elegy Rework) Warlock

Elegy went from unusable to game-warping. Blazing Scream now counts as an Archfiend skill, so it stacks with the Infernal Homunculus rework for a 2x+ multiplier. The lesser skulls now deal the same damage as the primary skull, and with six of them firing per cast, plus the ability to bounce and hit twice, single-target damage multiplies by roughly nine times. Combined with Overwhelming Aspect's absurd new stack scaling and the new Hemet Stone increase, Blazing Scream is projected to push well past Pit 150.

  • Leveling: ⭐⭐⭐⭐☆

  • Endgame: ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

  • Pit 150: ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

  • Torment: ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

2. Warlock – Apocalypse / Occult Build

Apocalypse benefits directly from the new Overwhelming Aspect math. With 13 stacks of overpower and hexed elites (thanks to Sigil of Subversion), the two-handed weapon variant reaches 884% increased damage against elites who are hexed. Dark Prison and Endless Barrage can now be cast while moving, drastically improving fluidity. The Splinter of Anguish gem also gives free 35% crit chance and attack speed at a resource cost that Warlock does not care about.

  • Leveling: ⭐⭐⭐⭐☆

  • Endgame: ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

  • Pit 150: ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

  • Torment: ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

3. Rogue – Standard Meta Builds Continue

Rogue avoided both major buffs and nerfs, and the combo point flip from 3→1 to 1→3 mostly cleans up the flow of certain skills. Every single existing rogue build should still function at or near the top of the leaderboards, and the class continues to have the widest variety of viable options in the game. Pair with the new soul splinters and it becomes the safest pick for pushing.

  • Leveling: ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

  • Endgame: ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

  • Pit 150: ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

  • Torment: ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

4. Barbarian – Ring of Red Furor Core Skill Builds

With Ring of Red Furor pushing core and weapon mastery skills to nearly guaranteed crit chance, and Nomad giving Unbridled Fury a new home, big-hit builds like Upheaval and Hammer of the Ancients return to relevance. Static builds using Ramaladni are effectively dead, so players need to rebuild defenses with life stacking instead of relying on the shield loop.

  • Leveling: ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

  • Endgame: ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

  • Pit 150: ⭐⭐⭐⭐☆

  • Torment: ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

5. Spiritborn – Spirit Storm Builds (Thrash / Stinger)

The new Swarm of Storms paragon board grants 80% multiplicative damage to spirit storm skills. Since spirit storms deal sparking DoT damage, the Splinter of Hellfire (which sacrifices crit chance for double damage) becomes a natural fit and could go up to 230% damage if socketed into Leoric's Crown. Spirit Storm-based builds are projected between Pit 130 and 140.

  • Leveling: ⭐⭐⭐⭐☆

  • Endgame: ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

  • Pit 150: ⭐⭐⭐⭐☆

  • Torment: ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

6. Spiritborn – Firestorm Evade / Eagle Soul Feathers

The new paragon board buffs stormfeather damage by 150%, and since Firestorm counts as stormfeather damage through its amulet, that translates to a 2.5x damage boost for the entire build. Add the Jagged Plume glyph buff and Fleet Wings aspect improvements, and this becomes one of the fastest farming setups in the season.

  • Leveling: ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

  • Endgame: ⭐⭐⭐⭐☆

  • Pit 150: ⭐⭐⭐☆☆

  • Torment: ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

7. Sorcerer – Ball Lightning

Ball Lightning can now be cast while moving, which brings back one of the fan-favorite sorcerer archetypes to a fluid, playable state. It won't top the charts, but it's the cleanest sorcerer build going into the season alongside the Fire Frozen Orb hybrid.

  • Leveling: ⭐⭐⭐⭐☆

  • Endgame: ⭐⭐⭐☆☆

  • Pit 150: ⭐⭐⭐☆☆

  • Torment: ⭐⭐⭐⭐☆

8. Paladin – Fist of the Heavens

The new Fist of the Heavens buffs finally give this skill enough scaling to be worth building around. Judgment also received some tweaks that let it stack more easily, but Fist of the Heavens is the more exciting option. Set balance is still a problem, so expect this to sit mid-pack overall.

  • Leveling: ⭐⭐⭐⭐☆

  • Endgame: ⭐⭐⭐☆☆

  • Pit 150: ⭐⭐⭐☆☆

  • Torment: ⭐⭐⭐⭐☆

9. Druid – Companion (Nefarious Bishiary Set)

Companion damage was buffed by 250% through the five-piece Nefarious Bishiary set, and battle roar cooldown dropped to 5 seconds. With storm and earth builds heavily nerfed, and no fix for the five-piece Old Mountain set, companions become the default option. Storm Claw sees a 40% damage buff from Great Staff of the Crone but still trails behind.

  • Leveling: ⭐⭐⭐⭐☆

  • Endgame: ⭐⭐⭐⭐☆

  • Pit 150: ⭐⭐⭐☆☆

  • Torment: ⭐⭐⭐⭐☆

10. Necromancer – Singularity Mages

With cold builds gutted by the Azurath area-of-effect removal, the best remaining direction for necromancer is Singularity Mages, either in shadow or bone form. The 22% core stat scaling change gives a small baseline damage bump, but the class overall lacks the aspect and unique reworks the warlock received.

  • Leveling: ⭐⭐⭐⭐☆

  • Endgame: ⭐⭐⭐☆☆

  • Pit 150: ⭐⭐☆☆☆

  • Torment: ⭐⭐⭐⭐☆

11. Necromancer – Desecrated Blood Wave (Shadow Surfer)

With desecrated ground stacking returning and Blood Wave receiving buffs to the desecrated ground it generates, Shadow Surfer becomes a legitimate build again. Base damage of 800% is high enough to justify testing, though survivability remains the class's biggest ongoing problem.

  • Leveling: ⭐⭐⭐☆☆

  • Endgame: ⭐⭐⭐⭐☆

  • Pit 150: ⭐⭐⭐☆☆

  • Torment: ⭐⭐⭐⭐☆

That covers the current outlook for Season 15's PTR meta. Warlock is running away with the top spot, Rogue holds steady, and Barbarian keeps its blasting power despite the nerfs. Druid and Necromancer players have reasons to voice feedback during the PTR window running from August 4th to August 11th, since large parts of the season are still tied to unrevealed BlizzCon content. Expect further shifts once the full patch drops on September 15th.
