Diablo 4 Midwinter Blight Event Guide - How To Get All Rewards & Loots On D4 Midwinter Blight

Diablo 4 Midwinter Blight will be running through the holidays until January 2nd and it's basically changing the entire Fractured Peaks region into a massive Helltide. In the Kyovashad town square west of the waypoint, you'll find a new NPC named Gileon, an inspirational Bard who rings the spirits of the people to band together against the new sinister evil rising in the Peaks the Red-Cloaked Horror. As a consequence of the return of the Red-Cloaked Horror, all sorts of grotesque monsters have appeared and are turning humans into frigid husks, morphed human effigies that are used to create new monsters subservient to the Red-Cloaked Horror.

Diablo 4 Midwinter Blight Materials Farming

In the D4 Midwinter Blight event, you'll need to acquire a lot of new seasonal currency called Midwinter Proofs to get a bunch of limited time rewards unique to this event. Midwinter Proofs can be acquired from the collections table in Kyovashad by exchanging event materials you can find from the Midwinter Blight.

1. Blighted Fragments

The first and lowest tier of these event materials are Blighted Fragments and these can be obtained from basically any monster that you find and kill within the Fractured Peaks just like a Helltide. You'll need 300 of these fragments per Midwinter Proof. But don't worry, they drop a lot more often than the Aberrant Cinder in normal Helltides.

2. Lost Heirloom

The second material you can get are Lost Heirloom. You can get these by destroying the frigid husks mentioned earlier. You can find it pretty easily and are usually surrounded by a group of enemies. Since these husks are just an amalgamation of people though, sometimes things will spawn after destroying it like a Treasure Goblin so be on the lookout for that. For this material, you'll need to get 30 per Midwinter Blight.

3. Red-Cloaked Trophy

Lastly the rarest and highest tier event material is the Red-Cloaked Trophy which you can only obtain after defeating the Red-Cloaked  Horror. To find him, you'll need to complete the Mastery for the Blighted event which has a random chance to spawn in any of the normal event areas in the Fractured Peaks.

In this D4 Midwinter Blight event, you light a bonfire in the middle and protect it from hordes of enemies until it melts all the frigid husks, so you can destroy them. Once you destroy all the frigid husks before the timer runs out, the Red-Cloaked Horror spawns in and you can pretty easily demolish them with any endgame build to get your Red-Cloaked Horror which will also reward you with the title of Revelry. For this material, you'll only need to exchange one per Midwinter blight.

Diablo 4 Midwinter Blight Rewards

1. XP

The first reward you get after exchanging your materials is XP towards your Midwinter tribute square of which there are three tiers.

-Exchanging 300 Blighted Fragments will give you 10 XP

-Exchanging 30 Lost Heirlooms will give you 20 XP

Exchanging the Red-Cloaked Trophy will give 30 XP

The rewards for leveling up the square are a bit underwhelming as you only get 10 to 50,000 Diablo 4 gold of pocket change and some legendary gear. However, once you get to tier three, Midwinter Blight caches are added to the reward pool of nightmare dungeons so you can farm Winter proofs faster and you also get a winter reward which can be placed in Kyovashad to give a 20% damage buff against event enemies for 6 minutes.

2. Skins & Cosmetics

The other rewards you can get are from exchanging your Midwinter Proofs for limited-time event rewards from Gileon the NPC and the Midwinter square. In his shop, you can get a festive black trophy for every class, a mount trophy, and cosmetics for about half of the weapons in the game. The cosmetics are the most expensive rewards and will cost you a total of 440 Midwinter Proofs.

3. Legendary Aspect

The other rewards you can get from Gileon are a legendary aspect, Midwinter caches, and Gillian's Brew. The legendary aspect is actually brand new and will be limited to this event as far as we know so it will be unique to the Season of Blood. It's a pretty nice offensive aspect as you get a 25 to 35% attack speed buff and a 20% move speed buff every 30 seconds for 12 seconds. So in a dungeon, you'd be walking around clearing it for 30 seconds without any buffs. Then for 12 seconds, you'll get a movement speed and attack speed buff and then it goes back to the 30-second timer and repeats from there. There's also another effect that only ties to this event where killing enemies while empowered by the Midwinter reward that you got for the tier 3 Midwinter tribute will reduce that 30-second cool down by 1 second. All in all a decent aspect and quite cheap as well as it only costs 10 Midwinter tributes, making it easy to stock up on and farm.

4. Caches

There are two variants you can buy for 1 Midwinter Proof or 8 Midwinter Proof. The cheap one the Midwinter Purse will just reward you with about 1 million gold which is pretty convenient for anyone who went broke after spamming enchantments on their gear. 1 million gold per Midwinter Proof is a really good deal. If you can get 1 Midwinter Proof per minute that ends up being 1 million gold per minute which is usually really hard to do.

The other cache you can get is the Midwinter Spoils cash for 8 Midwinter Proofs which gives you some random armor, gem fragments, and a chance of getting Gileon’s Brew. This is also a decent cache but we would recommend getting the other limited items from Gillian’s shop first before farming just these caches.

5. Elixir

Lastly the new Elixir Gillian's Brew. The Elixir is brand new and also limited to this event just like the legendary aspect so it will be unique to the Season of Blood. This Elixir will increase your maximum life and lucky hit chance by 15% and your experience gained by 15%. The increase to lucky hit chance is made in by itself for lucky hit builds like the ball lightning sorcerer that bonus is ridiculous. On top of that, you even get a 15% experience gain bonus as opposed to the usual 5% from all other Elixir. It's a bit late into the season to start leveling any characters but if you felt like you were behind the rest of the player base in XP, this is the perfect new event item for you to catch up to everyone else.
